My pregnancy journey (38th week)

Baby bump at 36th week

We are 38 weeks now and I am so ready to go into labour although I know being pregnant is the best part and I am so going to miss having her inside me and this first bump! I do really enjoy and content being pregnant even when I don't feel comfortable at times. In fact, I haven't been really uncomfortable. Being pregnant just not as bad as I thought it would be. When I heard some mums feel really uncomfortable, how they are so ready for it to be over, I don't feel like that. I think that I have been embracing all that as much as I still can.

I will probably just going to repeat myself over and over, these final weeks because this is the part of pregnancy that seems to be going soooooo slow. Every single day, I was like, "Really? why haven't you want to come out yet???" Every time anyone talks to me or texts me, will ask whether or not the baby has arrived yet.

My pregnancy journey

It is very common for a pregnant mum to get diagnosed with gestational diabetes during pregnancy. Thus, it's very important to maintain normal blood sugar (for all pregnant mums, really) to ensure the health of your baby and yourselves.

So, what is gestational diabetes?

My pregnancy journey (third trimester)

I am currently into my 35 weeks of pregnancy. Woho! Which is totally insane. Ever since I hit 30 weeks I have been feeling crazy. The weeks gone by so quick! According to Glow app, our rainbow is the size of a muskmelon. She was about 2kg when we went for scan 2 weeks ago. It's a good hefty size and that's true because I feel like my body is so compressed and squashed and full right now. I got a lot of comments from a lot of people saying I don't look pregnant from the back or when I'm wearing loose dress which is very sweet and I take it as a compliment. I guess different mums gain weight in different ways whether carrying a boy or carrying a girl. Now, I can't take in full breathe, because I just don't have a lot of space in there. Same goes with food. I can't eat as much as normally. I get bloated easily even after a small meal.

My pregnancy journey (second trimester)

Right now I am 21 weeks along which means I am into my second trimester. Woho! I would say, overall it has gotten better, that's not to say that everything is 100% normal. I have heard a lot of people saying, "Oh, second trimester is so amazing, you feel as if like before you were pregnant. you can get tonnes of things done." I don't find that to be the case. I'm still much more tired than it would be normally compared to first trimester. However, no nausea and I can get through the day without napping, that's kind of a win in my book.

Awful things of being pregnant!

As much as I enjoy being pregnant, I do get bad days too.

How to tackle constipation during pregnancy

As a new to-be-mom, the changes you will experience during this beautiful and amazing phase of your life may be very overwhelming but, rest assured. Trust me, you will enjoy it at the same time. While pregnancy does bring along a range of not very desirable signs and symptoms, you will be able to take care of those and get through soon enough. :)

When you are pregnant, constipation and stomach bloated are very common. There are many reasons to it. Mainly because of the increase in hormone progesterone which relaxes muscles throughout the whole body and this includes digestive tract. Thus, this causes food to pass through the intestine slower. Also, as your baby grows, there is an increased pressure on your pelvic area which led to constipation.

No worries. To ease this, I have tried a few remedies which had helped me quite a bit.

Awesome things I love being pregnant!

The fact that a human being is growing inside me, it's amazing. I see life in a total different light. The miracle of life. It's so awesome to think about my body is creating life. When I see how my tummy changes and grow bigger over time and after every scan, seeing baby's movement is mind-blowing. This is awesome!

My pregnancy journey - Healthy snacks

Disclaimer: This post is all about my favourite snacks that I take whenever I feel like nauseous is kicking in. Might make you hungry. You can eat with me if you want. ;p

Now that I am pregnant, I am very cautious of the food/drink I put into my body. I learnt to discipline myself.

Split Mung Bean Sweet Soup (绿豆爽)Tau Suan

Me and tubby have been missing this dessert so much. It's very difficult to find this dessert here in KL. So, I decided to learn this recipe from ah mm. It's a thick starchy mung bean sweet soup, usually served with chinese breadstick/youtiao. Split mung bean is green bean without the skin. This recipe is very easy but it can be tricky as well especially when it comes to the choice of starch to use. Ideally the starch should either be water chestnut starch or sweet potato starch. However, potato starch and wheat starch can be used as well. Other starches, such as, corn flour and tapioca flour can also be used, however, it will turn watery once the dessert is cooled down after few hours.

What's the best thing you've ever eaten while travelling? And where did you eat it?

After hibernating for 2 and a half weeks, we are finally back!

We went for an adventure to London and Paris, which was such a whirlwind. Tubby's childhood dream finally came true and I am glad to be able to fulfil his dream with him. Of course, we survived 13 hours flight both ways and the winter cold together.

When we were in London, surprisingly, we did not have much western food. We had chinese food for most of our meals.

Roast duck especially, is one of the best thing we have eaten over there and I must blog about it because it's worth it! I really miss the duck meat, talking about it now.  :(

KL Wedding Reception 11072015

#Throwback to our KL wedding reception in July.

It was a beautiful and happy day and I wouldn't have traded it for anything else in the world :) Blessed blessed.

Most importantly, it has been a wonderful 4 months as wife to tubby :) Settling into a whole new stage of life together has been really rewarding and truly happy, as we grow to know and love each other even better each day in our marriage.

For the bride-to-bes, just remember not to get too stressed out! It may be a very important day, but what's more important is not your wedding day but how you gonna spend the rest of your lives together in your marriage!
