My pregnancy journey (first trimester)

If you don't already know......

I am pregnant!

I am currently 14th week + 2 days, already graduated to second trimester. Woho!

The beginning of pregnancy was real difficult especially when I was adjusting to the hormonal changes (not so much on physical changes yet) and the symptoms. Even though I feel terrible especially emotionally, I still feel grateful, for these are good symptoms and grateful that I didn't get all of the common symptoms which I think would make me feel worse.

One of the symptoms that I got is morning sickness. Man, morning sickness is real although not many women get that, at least not from my social circle. It's the first signal that made us wanted to try on pregnancy test kit. I remember I was practising piano and just about half an hour into my practice I felt so sick out of a sudden. I quickly went to bed and napped, thinking that it would be better after that. No, it didn't! So that night, tubby bought a pregnancy test kit back. I peed on it, of course, that's what you do. We both stood there for almost 5 minutes anticipated for the result. Our hearts were pounding. Those 5 minutes were like forever. Then we saw the word 'Pregnant'! OMG! Few minutes later, '3+ weeks' appeared! OMG!

Since then, I feel nauseous all the time, literally! Not just in the morning! I did not actually get sick but I have been feeling very very nauseous. I have tried many remedies found online but mostly didn't work. Doctor recommended morning sickness pill but I did not want to take any medication. Basically whenever my stomach is empty, I would feel sick. Since the main reason for morning sickness is empty stomach, I just have to eat more frequently. I can't take big meals. I eat frequent small meals every 1.5-2 hours throughout the day because that really help keep my morning sickness away.

My sense of smell got strong too. I can't stand strong smell especially fishy smell and smell of perfume or any kind of strong scented products.

I had acne history during my teenage years for many many years and then my skin got treated and was great after. Ever since I am pregnant, I started breaking out again. Although it's not as bad as before but it's crazy especially on my face, chest and back. I hope that this is just temporary. I can only treat it after delivery.

Also, I have been feeling very exhausted. I need to take naps for at least 2 hours everyday. Otherwise, I will go crazy. Tubby will go crazy too. Sorry ;p

Well, every pregnancies is really not easy, with or without symptoms. Now that I am pregnant, I feel even more thankful to my mum whom gave birth to me. Every mums are great. I also thank God for the strength that he puts in every mums to go through each pregnancies.

There you go, my updates on the first trimester.

Next post, I will be talking about some of the healthy snacks that help to satisfy my stomach.

Stay tuned!
