My pregnancy journey (38th week)

Baby bump at 36th week

We are 38 weeks now and I am so ready to go into labour although I know being pregnant is the best part and I am so going to miss having her inside me and this first bump! I do really enjoy and content being pregnant even when I don't feel comfortable at times. In fact, I haven't been really uncomfortable. Being pregnant just not as bad as I thought it would be. When I heard some mums feel really uncomfortable, how they are so ready for it to be over, I don't feel like that. I think that I have been embracing all that as much as I still can.

I will probably just going to repeat myself over and over, these final weeks because this is the part of pregnancy that seems to be going soooooo slow. Every single day, I was like, "Really? why haven't you want to come out yet???" Every time anyone talks to me or texts me, will ask whether or not the baby has arrived yet.

My pregnancy journey (Baby project 10 - Circle skirt)

Little baby circle skirt - super easy to make! Instructions taken from MadeEverydaywithDana. You only need to use a small amount of fabric. The one I made is for 0-3 months. I know that she's going to grow very fast and I should make bigger size but like I said, this skirt is super easy to make, I can make more when she grows bigger.

My pregnancy journey

It is very common for a pregnant mum to get diagnosed with gestational diabetes during pregnancy. Thus, it's very important to maintain normal blood sugar (for all pregnant mums, really) to ensure the health of your baby and yourselves.

So, what is gestational diabetes?

My pregnancy journey (third trimester)

I am currently into my 35 weeks of pregnancy. Woho! Which is totally insane. Ever since I hit 30 weeks I have been feeling crazy. The weeks gone by so quick! According to Glow app, our rainbow is the size of a muskmelon. She was about 2kg when we went for scan 2 weeks ago. It's a good hefty size and that's true because I feel like my body is so compressed and squashed and full right now. I got a lot of comments from a lot of people saying I don't look pregnant from the back or when I'm wearing loose dress which is very sweet and I take it as a compliment. I guess different mums gain weight in different ways whether carrying a boy or carrying a girl. Now, I can't take in full breathe, because I just don't have a lot of space in there. Same goes with food. I can't eat as much as normally. I get bloated easily even after a small meal.

My pregnancy journey (Baby project 9 - Embroidery on onesie)

....because she is a gift of grace from God.

Personalising onesies never gets old! I love onesies even before I am pregnant with baby Rainbow- because onesies are the one piece of clothing that is totally for baby only and they are so cute!!!! I bought a few plain onesies to add a little personal touch on them, made it more personalised. For this pink onesie, I did hand embroidery.

Learnt this split stitch from Craftsy.

My pregnancy journey (Baby project VIII - Baby bloomer/diaper cover)

I guess a simple baby bloomer/diaper cover is the perfect thing to wear under a dress or with a little plain/simple design t-shirt or with a bare belly! Then your baby will be chilling in a comfy style. ;)
Once again, simple DIY taken from SeeKateSew.

My pregnancy journey (Baby project VII - Baby dress)

This baby dress is so simple it can be completed within a day. This DIY is taken from SeeKateSew and it's perfect for tropical country. I bought this fabric from hometown and it costs RM12/metre. So that makes this dress less than RM12! What a steal! Nowadays, a baby's dress can cost more than an adult's dress at some baby retail shops.

Without further ado, let's get onto the tutorial.

My pregnancy journey (It's just me and her)

As I look through the photos, seeing how much this little life has grown inside me, I know myself well enough, that I will miss this moment very very soon. I will miss all the delicate preparations; mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. The thrill of announcing the good news to family and friends. The anticipation of waiting to find out the gender. Friends who visit and touch my belly wanting to know what it's like. The first ultrasound scan with just a little black dot. The first flickering heart beat. The naming part that I have kind of gone to a friendly battle with tubby for.

My pregnancy journey (Baby project VI - Taggie cube soft toy)

This quick taggie cube soft toy can be completed within a day with some scraps of fabrics and ribbons, stuffed with stuffing and some plastics for some sound effect. I used cotton fabrics with different patterns and varying lengths and styles of ribbons to make it more interesting to play with. I included a bell as well. This DIY is taken from Thingsforboys.com.

My pregnancy journey (Baby project V - Sensory book)

Did you know that babies are learning more in their first 3 years during the rest of their lives? This is a very busy time for them. There are a lot of windows of opportunity where they develop certain behaviours. The best way to stimulate their brain is through play at this age. Of course, toys and books are perfect. But don't rush to the toy store just yet. You can make them for your baby yourself.
