My pregnancy journey (Baby project III - Pillowcase dress)

Finally completed this 'pillowcase' baby dress for baby rainbow after procrastinated for few days. Buying things for babies can be fun but making them yourself is so much more enjoyable. So, I challenged myself to make some dresses for baby and I made it!!! for my maiden attempt. Kind of proud of myself ;P I surprised myself.

Found this really easy dress tutorial from Pretty Prudent.

I love the feeling of accomplishment of making a dress from scratch for our little, all by myself! and especially when I have not made a garment before, only simple stitches/projects. Truthfully speaking, to make this easy dress, I have made many mistakes here and there. The removal of sewn stitches is the most frustrating part, to the point where I wanted to rip off everything and restart. Seriously, removing sewn stitches is not something anyone wants to do. Now I understand why my Mum would be reluctant to help me repair some of my garments in the past. Removal of sewn stitches is not fun, not fun at all but I had no choice but to grit my teeth and carry on.

So, tada! This is the final product. I made a larger size (6 months to maybe 1.5 years) so that she can wear for a longer time (my effort can be appreciated longer :P). The whole dress only cost me less than RM20.

Some life lesson here: Life is not easy yeah. We make mistakes in life, we learn to accept our mistakes and deal with them and take steps to rectify the situation to make ourselves a better person. Learning journey.

I challenge you guys to do something you have not done before or something you do not even know how to and start from zero. I would love to hear your experiences. :)

A little update on baby rainbow: She is 194 days (27 weeks & 5 days) old. She has becoming real active. The kicks are getting more intense now especially when I am resting or talking to her. According to the pregnancy app, she is the size of an acorn squash. 2 more days into third trimester. Papa and mama are working real hard to prepare for the arrival. We just can't wait for her arrival already. I know I will be missing her inside me, but we just can't wait to see her in person and hold her.

Stay tuned for more baby projects.
