I try to go with gentle and natural ingredients/products because they are definitely safe for pregnancy and since my skin is more sensitive now as compared to pre-pregnancy, I have to be extra gentle. My daily day and night skin care routine now sticks to the basic 3-steps regime; cleansing, toning and moisturising.
Step 1: Cleanse with Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser

This cleanser has been one of my staple products for awhile. It is famously known as 'the cleanser for sensitive skins'. It is moisturising and non-drying which is plus points. It does not lather up and generate foam like most cleansers do and because of that, initially it gave me the feeling that my face is not washed clean. However after several use, it does do what it claims to do. Very satisfied.
Step 2: Tone with diluted apple cider vinegar (ACV)

Mix one part of unfiltered apply cider vinegar to three parts of distilled water (it depends on your skin tolerance towards ACV. I tried one part to one part and it was too harsh for my skin. One part to three part works best for my skin). Soak a cotton ball with the diluted ACV and apply to your skin to absorb oil. This method creates a natural toner that is rich in enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids, it's great for evening out the skin, helps to reduce oiliness, tightens pores and helps with breakouts. If you can get past the smell, try this!
Step 3: Moisturise with Bio-oil

I started using Bio-oil purely for stretch marks during my early pregnancy. Again, this product is made from gentle, natural plant extracts and Vitamins A and E. I applied quite a generous amount to the areas where stretch marks would commonly appear. I love the scent and it makes my skin so smooth. So, I started applying it to my neck, chest and back as well. After only 3 days, I noticed the acnes around these areas started disappearing drastically. Thus, I started applying it to my face as well and yes, it worked wonderfully. I still get some acnes here and there but bio-oil really does help big time.
So there you go, my daily basic 3-steps skincare routine to combat acne during pregnancy. Hopefully nothing changes post-pregnancy, I hope to stick to this basic 3-steps. It's so easy and so quick to prep my skin every morning and every night.
All in all, skincare during pregnancy or even not, doesn't have to be difficult and time-consuming.
One last tip but not the least, before I go. Water!!! Drink sufficient water, keep yourself hydrated, flush out all toxins. Be beautiful from inside out. <3
