The Buckingham palace is set behind a large roundabout which has a statue of Queen Victoria in its centre. The palace was closed when we were there. It's only open for a few months in a year. If you happen to be in town when it's open, I highly suggest you popping in for a visit.
I salute you, Buckingham Palace.
Back in London...
... we mainly took their public transport around. Before the trip, we have already purchased the 6-day london pass online with their limited time 15% discount plus 40 pounds worth of oyster card (for transportation). As much as you might want to save on your accommodation and food and drink, you really are going to London to see the many world-class attractions. Although most of the famous attractions come free, there are still some that you have to pay for admission and the prices can come to easily among the highest in the world. So, London pass is really worth it in terms of time and money. Let me explain why.
There are 55 attractions that are covered in the London Pass. The lists are here: The London Pass
It's a very impressive list looking at the things that London Pass offers. So long as you are interested in visiting the included attractions, the London Pass is really a great value. If you visit only 3 big attractions in a day, you have already saved money and time because you can skip the long queues.
Of course, you can still go to some attractions without purchasing the London Pass. Some of London attractions are free. That includes a few of the famous ones:
British Museum, Tate Modern Museum, Speakers' Corner, Hyde Park, The Changing of the Guards etc.
