F.O.C.U.S

The sun had just raised. I was doing some stretches while waiting for the rest of the team. I saw this girl squatting next to her father. She smiled at me from a far. I smiled back. She ran towards me and hugged me and held my hand and pulled me to where our breakfast was. She looked at me again and smiled. Her eyes were so bright and her smile was so wide. She's so lovely and super adorable. I wonder how these kids can always be so cute.

It is because they are so simple and always so joyful. Usually the most joyful people are those making the best out of the least possession they have.

Yes, it's very easy to feel sorry for them, seeing their poor living condition and compare with our luxurious life. We have everything, or almost everything (almost because we can never be satisfied with what we have). However, the truth is, we should feel sorry for ourselves. Yes, we have everything, but, we are always not satisfied with what we have. We always want more. Our satisfaction is just for temporary. We get the satisfaction when we achieved/received something, but, often times, we want more. We have sufficient food to satisfy our hunger but we still feel hungry for more food. Ultimately, we feel so bloated and what's the point?

Our society had shaped us in a way that we focus on what we lack of that 1 thing and not what we have of the remaining 9 things. Thus, often times, we are unhappy because we still lack of something.

Life satisfaction is a very difficult lesson to learn in life but that girl had showed me that how we set our focus is the key. Moreover, when we leave this world one day, we can never bring the earthly things out of it, for we brought nothing into the world (1 Timothy 6:6-7). We should set our focus on what's eternity. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18).

Have to recalibrate my mentality.

Matthew 6:32-33: For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
